What changed
October 28, 2026: Terms 2026-10-28, Pro Agreement 2026-10-28, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-28
- Lead prices now depend on the trade. A house cleaning, carpet cleaning or handyman lead costs $10. A lead in every other trade costs $30. The size of the job does not change the price, and every lead still shows its price before you say you are interested.
- New: an exclusive lead for $250. A pro can ask for a request exclusively while no pro has the homeowner's number yet. The homeowner still chooses. If they share their number with that pro, the request closes to every other pro and nobody else can be charged for it. The founding discount does not apply to an exclusive lead.
- Homeowners: an interested pro who asked for your request exclusively is marked on their card, and sharing your number with that pro closes your request to other pros. Sharing with any other pro first means no pro can take your request exclusively afterwards.
- Your first credit pack is now priced to cover one lead in your trade, from $10.
- A lead you already unlocked keeps the price you paid. Existing users are asked to accept the updated Terms, and existing pros must accept the updated Pro Agreement before they next say they are interested in a lead. The Privacy Policy and the contact consent did not change.
October 16, 2026: Pro Agreement 2026-10-16, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-16
- Every lead now costs $10, whatever the trade or the size of the job. Prices by trade and the small and large job prices no longer apply.
- Your first credit pack is $10, enough for one lead.
- The founding offer is closed to new pros. A pro who was enrolled before it closed keeps the discount until their founding period ends.
- A lead you already unlocked keeps the price you paid. Existing pros must accept the updated Pro Agreement before they next say they are interested in a lead. The Terms, Privacy Policy and contact consent did not change.
October 15, 2026: Pro Agreement 2026-10-15, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-15
- A person now reviews every credit request and every flag for a fake or unreachable lead. Credits are no longer approved automatically when our records agree with the reason, and bad-lead flags are no longer credited automatically up to a monthly limit.
- One exception: when 6 pros unlocked a lead and every one of them flagged it as spam or fraud, all of their requests for that lead are approved at once and the price each pro paid goes back into their balance as credits.
- Existing pros must accept the updated Pro Agreement before they next say they are interested in a lead. The Terms, Privacy Policy and contact consent did not change.
October 14, 2026: Terms 2026-10-14, Privacy 2026-10-14, Pro Agreement 2026-10-14, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-14, Contact consent 2026-10-14
- You choose who gets your number. Pros no longer pay to see a homeowner's contact details on their own. A pro who wants the job taps "I'm interested", which is free, and may add a short note. We tell you by email, and by text message if you verified your phone number.
- On your request page you see each interested pro with their profile and badges, and you choose Share my number or No thanks. Only the pros you choose receive your name, phone number, email address and any street address, up to 6 pros for one request.
- Pros pay for a lead when the homeowner shares their details with them. A pro needs a balance that covers the lead to say they are interested, and if their balance no longer covers it when the homeowner shares, nothing is shared or charged.
- Contact consent version 2026-10-14 says your details go only to the pros you choose. The Privacy Policy, Terms, Pro Agreement and Credits and Refunds Policy say the same. Existing users are asked to accept the updated Terms and Privacy Policy, and existing pros must accept the updated Pro Agreement before they next say they are interested in a lead.
October 13, 2026: Terms 2026-10-13, Privacy 2026-10-13, Pro Agreement 2026-10-13, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-13, Verification page
- Privacy Policy: we now use Impact.com to track visits and clicks on partner links. Some US state laws treat this as "sharing" for advertising. It is off until you allow it everywhere until 2026-11-13; from then, US visitors have it on unless they opt out, and visitors elsewhere still have it off until they allow it. Opt out any time with the new "Your Privacy Choices" button in the footer (it replaces "Cookie preferences"). We honor Global Privacy Control as an opt-out.
- Lead prices are now set by trade. Each trade has a small job price and a large job price. A job is large when the homeowner wants it done as soon as possible or has a budget of $2,000 or more. Trades without their own price use a standard price. Current prices are on the pricing page, every lead still shows its price before you unlock it, and a later price change never alters what you already paid.
- Your first credit pack is priced to cover one lead in your trade, with a minimum of $10. New pros no longer receive a welcome credit.
- Founding pros: while the founding offer is open, the first pros who join are enrolled automatically and pay less for every lead for a set period. The pricing page shows the discount, the period and how many places are left. A pro can see on each lead what they will pay.
- Bad leads: flag a fake lead, or a homeowner you cannot reach, within 72 hours of unlocking it. Up to 3 flags in any 30 days are credited back to your balance automatically, and a person reviews any more. Credits come back as credits, not cash. Other credit requests work as before.
- The Terms and the Pro Agreement now name the company in full: Hire Helpers LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. Illinois law governs them, claims by pros and other business users go to the state or federal courts in Cook County, Illinois, and homeowners keep the protection of the consumer laws where they live and may also sue where they live. Formal notices can be mailed to 1 E Erie St, Suite 525-2098, Chicago, IL 60611, and the Terms add a notice for California users.
- Badges: the license mark is now called "License number provided", because we do not check license numbers, and we no longer show a general "verified" mark. The Pro Agreement now says that pros outside roofing, plumbing, HVAC and electrical can unlock leads for 14 days after credits are first added to their account before an approved insurance certificate is needed.
- Existing users are asked to accept the updated Terms, and existing pros must accept the updated Pro Agreement before their next unlock. The Privacy Policy and the contact consent did not change.
October 7, 2026: Terms 2026-10-07, Privacy 2026-10-07, Pro Agreement 2026-10-07, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-07, Contact consent 2026-10-07
- Leads now cost $5 each (five credits). One credit is still one dollar. The starter pack and bonus credit amounts are unchanged, so the $10 starter pack now covers two leads.
- Up to 6 pros (up from 4) can unlock the same request. Contact consent version 2026-10-07 now says up to 6 pros who choose to unlock your request may contact you. Requests posted before this date keep their original limit of 4 pros and their original price. Existing users are asked to accept the updated Terms and Privacy Policy, and existing pros must accept the updated Pro Agreement before their next unlock.
- Privacy Policy: when you allow analytics, Google Analytics is now loaded through Google Tag Manager, a Google tool that holds our measurement settings. The policy names it as a recipient and in the cookies section. We use it only for Google Analytics measurement; it loads only after you allow analytics, advertising signals stay off, and it does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or the text of requests and messages. Nothing else about what we collect or share changed.
October 6, 2026: Terms 2026-10-06, Privacy 2026-10-06, Pro Agreement 2026-10-06, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-06, Review Policy 2026-10-06, Contact consent 2026-10-06
- Cookies: the site now asks before it sets any analytics cookie. Analytics is off until you choose to allow it, advertising signals stay off, and a "Cookie preferences" button in the footer lets you change your choice at any time. The Privacy Policy lists Google as the analytics provider.
- Privacy Policy: added analytics only after consent, phone verification and the company that sends our verification codes when it is switched on, consent records, a privacy requests link, and an updated retention table.
- Terms: homeowners must be 18 or older with the authority to approve work at the property, added phone verification and message terms, and a plain statement that HireHelpers is a marketplace and not a contractor or a seller of services.
- Contact consent version 2026-10-06: now says you are 18 or older with authority to approve work, that up to 4 pros who pay to unlock your request may call, text and email you, that agreeing is not a condition of buying anything, and how to say STOP. The exact words you saw are stored with your request.
- Pro Agreement: leads cost a flat $1 each, a self-confirmation that your business and insurance details are accurate and that you may represent the business, bonus and referral credits and their limits, and reminders to contact homeowners promptly. Existing pros must accept it again before their next unlock.
- Credits and Refunds Policy: leads cost one credit, requests we can confirm from our own records are approved at once, a new reason for a homeowner who does not respond, bonus and referral credits are credits and not cash, and limits against misuse.
- Conduct Policy: phone numbers connected to approved spam or fraud reports can be blocked from posting requests.
- Review Policy: version updated with this release. The rules are unchanged.
October 5, 2026: Terms 2026-10-05, Privacy 2026-10-05, Pro Agreement 2026-10-05, Credits and Refunds 2026-10-05, Review Policy 2026-10-05, Contact consent 2026-10-05
- Terms rewritten: you now accept them when you create an account or submit a request, we explain our role as a venue and not an employer or agent, we added disclaimers, a limit on liability, an electronic communications consent, and 30 days notice for material changes.
- Privacy Policy rewritten with categories of information, sources, purposes, recipients, retention periods, your rights and how to use them, and a California section.
- Pro Agreement version 2: lead terms, credits by reference, rules for calls, texts and email, limits on how homeowner information may be used, review rules, what the insurance badge does and does not mean, indemnity procedure, a liability limit, and suspension with notice and a rule for your credit balance.
- New: Credits and Refunds Policy, Review Policy, Conduct Policy and Complaints, Verification, Copyright Policy, Accessibility, and the Legal page.
- New: homeowners agree to a contact consent when they submit a request.
